Liebster Award

I was unexpectedly nominated for a Liebster Award, which has made me very proud of myself and this blog, even though I didn’t know about this awards.

I have to thank Megan, the meaningful mommy for being crazy enough to believe I deserve it 😉

Being a fewer than 200 follower blog I am entitled to make the challenge, and here are the answers to the questions Megan asked:

1. What inspired your blog name?

My belief that before speaking a language, we have to think in that language. I must be completely honest, it was going to be called “think in languages” but someone made a mistake in a conversation and I loved it this way.

2. Do you have any hopes to write & publish a book?

I do, as most of us bloggers I believe. I dream of getting retired from work asap and dedicate my life to writing books, especially novels, I have so much to write about!

3. What do you love about writing?

It is difficult to say, I guess I have always been a story-teller. I remember doing it since I was a very young fella and I have always find it fascinating for no reason. If I write, I’m happy.

It probably has a lot to do with my difficulty in expressing my feelings, and a pencil and a blank sheet of paper has always been the best way to empty myself.

4. If you were stranded on an island with only one book what would it be?

Only one? Let me say this question is cruel, very cruel… can I choose my kindle with a couple of thousand books?

Okay, I’ll do my best… “Our kind” by Marvin Harris.

5. What is your favorite blog to read?

Mmmm, another difficult question… there are many I love really, but if I only have to choose one it’d be http://www.8negro.es, yeah I know, there’s no relation with my blogging at all but I use it as a total distraction.

6. Have you been awarded any awards before?

Nope, first time! 😀 which makes it much more special.

7. What is your biggest challenge when writing?

When I’m writing articles about education my biggest aim is to make them understandable by any reader. It is easy to fall into the complexity of formal terms and sound pedantic using scientific words or referring to college text books. But my purpose is to keep it simple.

If I’m writing fiction -from which you don’t get much in this blog- I try readers to forget about reality and experience a full life experience of mixed beauty and adventures in my lines.

I think I achieve none of them…

8.  What is your favorite T.V. show?

Any documentary about wild creatures surviving in their environment. Humans on TV normally show their worst.

9. If you could interview anyone (deceased or living) who would it be?

Tolkien. Nobody has ever known more about languages.

10. What is one of your  favorite quotes?

If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.
