Learning a language or learning how to play piano are long winding roads full of tedious tasks. As many other things in life, we tend to feel those who achieve are heroes… well they are, but heroes are not different from you, a hero is someone who’d do whatever it takes to reach a goal!
It’s not the first time I insist on the importance of constant work, I’m afraid it won’t be the last. I have seen too many people dedicating a lot of their precious time to a task like learning a language, just to give up!
A language can represent a huge range of different grammar rules and knowledge, so huge we need to spend years studying it at university, but the majority of speakers don’t know that much and they speak anyway… there are some things you do not need!
A foreign language sounds like a constant buzz to the new speaker. It can be very disappointing trying to get a message and not being able to, we normally blame ourselves or the speakers maybe, which is worse… Is there any solution?
I’m very happy of the education I received, at least in many aspects. However; I must say there are other things I would have changed now that I’ve become a teacher. But above all, I was a very good student with the heart of a criminal.
